Overview Investors Title Insurance Company and Affiliates is seeking a Commercial Underwriter with deep knowledge of commercial transactions and multi-state title practices. Remote role; must be located in Tennessee. Why You’ll Love This Role High-Value Transactions: Work on complex, high-liability commercial real estate deals across multiple states. Cross-Functional Exposure: Partner with legal, escrow, reinsurance, and operations teams to move deals forward seamlessly. Client-Facing Impact: Build trusted relationships with attorneys, lenders, brokers, and title agents. Process Ownership: Drive end-to-end underwriting excellence, from risk assessment to post-closing compliance. What You’ll Do Underwrite purchase, refinance, leasehold, and construction commercial transactions, evaluating title search data, surveys, and zoning. Draft and issue title commitments, policies, and endorsements in line with state-specific and national underwriting standards. Review and clear title exceptions, resolve curative issues, and communicate with stakeholders to eliminate deal blockers. Maintain accurate file documentation and prepare reports on open files, issued policies, and revenue metrics. Serve as the main contact for clients and attorneys, providing underwriting guidance and proactive communication. Support compliance efforts through file audits, AR tracking, and adherence to corporate and regulatory standards. What We’re Looking For Experience: 5+ years in commercial title underwriting with experience in GA, TN, or VA transactions. Licensing: Active underwriter license(s) in GA, TN, or VA preferred. Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of commercial title insurance practices, escrow, ALTA standards, and legal documentation. Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in title production software, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic recording systems. Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, analytical, communicative, and professional—able to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
