Job Summary
The Survey CAD Technician will be responsible for providing office and field-based survey and GPS support to include construction staking and layout, collection and processing of field data, and preparation of 3D machine control models.
Responsibilities:

• Analyze/verify existing site conditions and review survey documents provided by others to ensure accuracy of information used for design and construction.
• Utilize provided survey information to localize construction sites and set appropriate vertical and horizontal control points.
• Perform topographic surveys of construction sites in various stages utilizing a UAV/Drone and/or conventional methods.
• Analyze and process data collected conventionally and with UAV/Drone to produce 3D point clouds.
• Utilize Agtek software to prepare subgrade surface models and perform accurate earthwork estimates.
• Prepare detailed and accurate 3D machine control models to aid in efficient earthwork and grading operations.
• Collaborate with office and field personnel to facilitate machine control integration.

Desired Qualifications:

• Associates degree or vocational school education in surveying, computer-aided drafting and design or similar preferred.
• Computer proficient with previous experience on software programs including Agtek, AutoCAD, HCSS, and Propeller desirable.
• Knowledge and previous experience working with standard surveying instruments, Trimble, and Topcon construction equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects at once.
• Exceptional organizational and planning skills.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and drawings.
• General knowledge of site and utility construction surveying principles.
