Hennebery Eddy Architects seeks a collaborative and creative specifications writer assistant who shares our values and commitment to serve our community, foster belonging, and contribute to a sustainable future. This individual will work closely with the Specifications Writer to support and assist the development of projects. We currently have a position open in our Portland, Oregon office and will consider both part-time and full-time applicants.

Typical Responsibilities


* Assist with writing, editing, and coordinating specifications and related written construction documents.


* Coordinate drawing and document reviews with project teams to specify all relevant requirements for construction management, procurement, installation, testing, and certification.


* Coordinate deliverables from project teams and consultants.


* Support QA/QC reviews for compliance between specifications and contract documents.


* Support project teams in our three office locations - Portland, OR, Bend, OR, and Bozeman, MT.


* Research products, materials, and construction processes.


* Ensure up-to-date standards are embedded in specifications templates.


* Consistently research to stay up to date with emerging technology to develop specifications.


* Actively contribute to mentorship, office culture, initiatives, and learning programs.

Preferred Qualifications


* Architectural license preferred.


* CSI certification, LEED or Living Future accreditation preferred.


* Bachelor's degree preferred.


* Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite.


* Experience with Deltek Masterworks, SpecLink, or other specification masters preferred.


* Four or more years of experience in a professional architecture firm in specifications development preferred.


* Must be proactive, organized, and deadline driven.


* Ability to work with a variety of people in multiple locations, both virtual and in-person.


* Experience with writing, editing, and coordinating architectural specifications to reflect project requirements.


* Basic knowledge of building materials and products including relative costs, characteristics, performance, and compatibility.


* Knowledge of architectural and interior design, building codes, systems and materials, design and construction products, engineering coordination, suitable/appropriate product and manufacturer or suppliers, and construction methods.
