Job Description

Prairie Mechanical, an industry leading union contractor, is currently seeking a plumber to join our fast-growing service department team. This position provides an excellent opportunity for candidates to join the Plumbers Local 16 if not currently a member.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in plumbing and drain cleaning
• General knowledge of plumbing and drain systems
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Experience with hydro-jetting, cable machines and inspection cameras
• Clean driving record
• Ability to work in a team setting
• Job offer contingent on passing background check and drug screen

Job Functions:

• Perform commercial plumbing services such as: Drain cleaning, camera inspections, backflow preventer testing, pipe installation, water fixture retrofit and installation
• Complete customer paperwork via online portal
• Communicate with dispatch and billing departments to handle customer requests and invoices

Physical Demands:

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit: reach with hands and arms: climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Preferred Certificates/Licenses:

• Grade VI Backflow license preferred, not required
• Omaha plumber journeyman’s license preferred, not required
• OSHA 10 preferred, not required
• Confined space certification preferred, not required
