UC Riverside's Campus Business Services is recruiting for a Senior Graphic Artist. The full salary range for the Senior Graphic Artist is $31.04 - $46.91 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $38.54 per hour (step 6). We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Please note that review of a work sample will be required as part of the selection process. Under the direction of the Associate Director, Auxiliary Services Marketing, the Senior Graphic Artist provides creative design, print production, project management and marketing services in print, digital and web formats in support of the various units within Auxiliary Services. This position serves all Auxiliary clients, including but not limited to the Office of the Associate Vice Chancellor, Dining & Hospitality Services, Housing Services, Campus Business Services, Transportation & Parking Services, Center for Early Childhood Education, and Auxiliary Budget & Finance. This position will also serve campus clients outside of Auxiliary Services as part of revenue generating activities. The Senior Graphic Artist works collaboratively with other UCR department marketing programs. This position will assist in the evaluation and research for projects related to effective marketing programs and processes; provide graphic design and art direction, brand development, new media design, photography, print fulfillment and delivery, project consultation and strategic planning, and a full range of production services. The Senior Graphic Artist must have knowledge of, adhere to, and enforce campus and department protocol and current marketing trends. This is an in-person position and may be eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Must be able to communicate ideas visually, verbally and in writing. Ability to understand and prepare digital files for digital printing and online platforms. Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Knowledge of graphic design standards and practices; knowledge of modern printing techniques and specifications. Ability to interpret and implement policies and procedures. Knowledge of digital photography and subject placement and lighting. Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, co-workers, subordinates, clients, vendors and other external sources, in English, by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintain them over time. Ability to work both independently and as part of a creative team. Must be able to accept creative suggestions and be willing to offer creative alternatives for work in progress. Ability to keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to the job. Must be able to work in a deadline-oriented environment; to display the self-discipline to organize, plan and prioritize and meet goals by given deadlines.
Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of and ability to implement both UCR and Auxiliary Services policies and procedures. Ability to produce animated graphics and interactive media for on-air and web-based video presentations using software such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere. Familiarity with both Mac and Microsoft Windows operating systems. Ability to create interactive websites using HTML, CSS and other industry standards.
