PSI is looking for a dedicated and proactive Safety Coordinator to join our Client's team in Saginaw, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. You will develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, conduct risk assessments, and provide training to employees on safety practices and protocols. As a Safety Coordinator, you will be a critical point of contact for safety issues and will work closely with various departments to enhance safety awareness and ensure adherence to safety policies. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safety programs and practices to ensure a safe workplace.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Provide training to employees on safety procedures and best practices.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with state and federal safety regulations and maintain safety records.
  • Collaborate with management and staff on safety initiatives and improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in safety coordination or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in conducting safety training and presentations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and promote a safety culture.
  • Certification in safety management (such as CSP or CHST) is a plus.
