Job Description Principal – Environmental Remediation - Orange County, California We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal to join a well-established Environmental Practice Group in Orange County, California. This leadership role will involve overseeing complex site assessment and remediation projects, managing multidisciplinary teams, supporting a variety of environmental projects, and driving new business development. The ideal candidate will be systematic, detail-oriented, and able to manage evolving projects in a fast-paced environment. With at least 10 years of experience, the successful candidate will be expected to provide technical leadership, expert knowledge, and broad management experience. The role requires a balance of expertise in groundwater impact assessment and remediation, business development, and relationship-building. The Principal will lead teams through challenging projects while ensuring high-quality results and exceptional client service. This position will contribute to the growth and success of the Orange County office and Environmental Practice Group. Expertise in groundwater impact assessment, remedial engineering, and innovative technology application is required. Candidates should have a comprehensive understanding of environmental consulting practices, including risk and exposure assessments, groundwater hydraulic control, treatment, and monitoring programs. Key Responsibilities: Lead both internal and client-facing meetings related to project work. Maintain leadership in groundwater impact assessment and environmental remediation. Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, quality deliverables, client service, and teamwork. Serve as a technical integrator for complex, multidisciplinary projects. Ensure the application of up-to-date, validated technical methods and practices. Champion quality control and demonstrate leadership with high standards for work processes and deliverables. Actively participate in professional societies and industry conferences to increase visibility and attract new business. Negotiate project scope, contract terms, budget, and schedule with clients. Manage projects to meet schedules, codes, regulations, and industry standards. Research, analyze, and interpret field and laboratory data to support technical activities. Develop and review technical reports for client delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance. Promote and enforce company health and safety standards and procedures. Deliver exceptional client service, fostering long-term relationships and repeat business opportunities. Qualifications: BS or MS in Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, or related field, with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience. Professional registration or certification (PE/RG/PG/CHg) in California. Extensive knowledge of environmental policies, regulations, and state/federal programs. Proven leadership, management, and administrative abilities. Strong client relationship development and business growth skills. Excellent oral and written communication, including report preparation demonstrating technical knowledge and compliance. A strong commitment to personal safety and adherence to safety standards.
