Responsibilities

Are you a student with an active CNA license? If so, this is a great opportunity to gain hands on experience in a full-time summer role. You are invited to be a part of Charter House, Mayo Clinic’s only Retirement Community, as a Summer Intern as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Qualifications

Previous experience not required. 

Must commit to work  minimum of 10 weeks AFTER 2 weeks of orientation.  (total of 12 weeks)  Ideal start date is mid-May with an end date of end of Aug, but dates are flexible to accommodate schools schedules as long as the 12 week minimum is met.

Previous experience with the geriatric population is preferred. Must be able to work independently. Requires good communication and human relation skills to interact with the residents and staff of Charter House. Strong problem solving skills are necessary. Must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress. Works varied hours which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends with rotating days off.

Schedule Details

Summer interns are scheduled 40 hours/per week and must be available to work days, evenings, nights and weekends. Summer interns may request up to 5 days off (unpaid) during the internship period, and are to be requested at the time of hire, (at minimum 60 days in advance.)

Weekend Schedule

Every other weekend, 8 hours shifts.
