Job Description

Description:

Summary

Safe Reach Solutions, LLC, a trusted provider of operational and security support services, delivers expert planning, logistics, and strategic support to organizations operating in some of the world’s most challenging environments. Whether supporting commercial ventures, government missions, or humanitarian operations, we specialize in crafting tailored solutions that meet real-time, on-the-ground demands with precision, adaptability, and integrity.

We are seeking experienced Humanitarian Liaison Officers to serve as vital connectors between our operational teams and the broader humanitarian community. These mid- to senior-career professionals will help bridge communication, coordination, and trust with NGOs, international agencies, and UN bodies operating in complex environments. Ideal candidates bring significant field experience—particularly in the Middle East—and a deep understanding of humanitarian principles, operational challenges, and stakeholder dynamics. Arabic language skills are highly valued. This role plays a strategic part in ensuring Safe Reach Solutions remain responsive, informed, and integrated within the humanitarian landscape.

This role is located onsite in the Middle East. Travel may be required 50% to 100% of the time.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Act as primary point of contact between Safe Reach Solutions and humanitarian organizations, including NGOs and UN agencies.
  • Support operational coordination and information sharing in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with field-based and headquarters-level partners to promote collaboration and operational alignment.
  • Provide cultural and regional expertise to internal teams to enhance mission planning and decision-making.
  • Participate in humanitarian coordination meetings, briefings, and working groups.
  • Monitor regional developments, humanitarian trends, and potential areas of concern to inform operational posture.
  • Facilitate dialogue and trust-building between security, logistics, and humanitarian actors.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, situational updates, and analysis tailored to both internal leadership and external partners.
  • Advise on best practices for engaging with affected populations, local authorities, and community-based organizations.
Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in international relations, humanitarian affairs, development studies, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience working with humanitarian organizations, NGOs, or UN agencies in operational roles.
  • Demonstrated experience working overseas, preferably in the Middle East or other complex humanitarian environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive contexts effectively.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with humanitarian coordination structures and principles, including the cluster system.
  • Must be willing to travel internationally, including active conflict zones. Travel may range from 50% to 100% of the time, depending on operational needs and assignment schedules.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with major humanitarian or development organizations such as UNHCR, UNICEF, OCHA, WFP, ICRC, Save the Children, or CARE.
  • Field-based experience in conflict-affected or disaster-prone areas, particularly in the Middle East.
  • Proficiency in Arabic (spoken and/or written) is highly desirable.
  • Advanced degree (e.g., MA, MSc) in a related discipline.
  • Experience in liaison, access negotiation, or civil-military coordination roles.
  • Working knowledge of humanitarian access frameworks, risk management, and protection principles.

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • This role requires extensive international travel, including active conflict zones. Travel may range from 50% to 100% of the time, depending on operational needs and assignment schedules.
  • Candidates must be physically capable of working in demanding environments, including those with limited infrastructure and elevated safety risks.
  • The position involves frequent standing, walking, and physical activity throughout the day.
  • Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Assignments may involve deployment to regions experiencing active conflict or instability, including designated war zones. All employees must comply with company safety protocols and training requirements related to high-risk travel.
