SUMMARY:

The Grants Manager is responsible for researching, writing, and managing grants and funding proposals to support the mission and strategic goals of Iona Senior Services. This role coordinates all aspects of the grants process, from prospecting and proposal development to reporting and compliance, in partnership with Iona’s programs team. The ideal candidate is an excellent writer, strategic thinker, detail-oriented, and passionate about nonprofit work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Grant Prospecting & Strategy

  • Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Align funding prospects with organizational priorities.
  • Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar and pipeline.
  • Grant Writing and Submission:
  • Draft high-quality, tailored proposals, letters of inquiry, and applications.
  • Collaborate with program and finance staff to gather data, narratives, and budgets.
  • Ensure timely submission of new and renewal grant applications.
  • Coordinate submission logistics and review final packages before submission.

Grant Management:

  • Oversee the entire cycle of our grant process, including researching prospects, developing and managing production of well-written, high-impact and tailored grant proposals, applications, progress reports, draft budgets, and other collateral materials as needed.
  • Review grant agreements, ensure compliance, and maintain grant documentation.
  • Work with finance and program teams to track spending and ensure adherence to donors requirements.
  • Support donor stewardship through updates, thank-you letters, and site visits.
  • Build and maintain funder relationships.

Reporting and Compliance:

  • Track and report on grant performance and deliverables.
  • Prepare interim and final narrative and financial reports.
  • Monitor grant budgets, match reporting, and realignments as needed.
  • Maintain centralized records and reporting calendars.
  • General Development and Communication Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the organization’s overall fundraising goals and strategies.
  • Help secure annual and special event corporate sponsorships.
  • Ensures all grant or corporate partners are recognized appropriately across channels.
  • Supports occasional evening and weekend events, as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, public administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in nonprofit grant writing and management.
  • Familiarity with grant databases and CRMs (e.g. GrantStation, Instrumental, Virtuous).
  • Proven success in securing and managing institutional funding.
  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.
  • Attention to detail and discretion with confidential information.

Salary : $65,000-70,000
