Job Title: Fire Protection Specialist Remote work model Overview: System One is seeking a Fire Protection Specialist, where your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of an advanced nuclear reactor project. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence procedures at both the plant and corporate levels, while collaborating with a dynamic team of professionals dedicated to operational excellence and innovation in the nuclear power sector. Key Responsibilities: Develop, organize, and track the creation of administrative and operating procedures specifically for and advanced nuclear reactor project. Collaborate with various departments to facilitate cross-discipline procedure reviews and implement an effective procedure database. Utilize software-based support tools to create electronic procedures that enhance operational efficiency. Apply industry best practices to produce high-quality procedures that mitigate safety and human performance risks. Engage with industry peers, third-party vendors, NEI, and regulatory organizations to explore innovative methods and technologies for procedure development. Ensure all administrative and operating procedures align with company standards, NRC regulations, NFPA codes, and other relevant regulatory requirements. Incorporate insights from INPO Significant Operating Experience Reports, NRC Circulars, Bulletins, and Information Notices, along with information from plant design changes and training effectiveness reports. Maintain a robust understanding of plant design, operations, and the technical skills necessary to produce effective procedures. Perform additional assigned tasks that support overall project schedules and objectives. Key Qualifications and Skills: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a commercial nuclear power plant operator or 5 years of experience in writing nuclear power plant procedures. Demonstrated expertise in Nuclear Fire Protection. Experience with Nuclear Electric Insurance Limited (NEIL) is essential. Professional certification in procedure writing is preferred. Strong knowledge of nuclear power plant systems and terminology. Proficient in interpreting relevant nuclear standards and ensuring procedural/regulatory compliance. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with smart procedures or other software tools is a plus. Exceptional technical writing and communication abilities, with a keen attention to detail. Self-driven and capable of generating innovative solutions independently.
