Job Description

Overview: Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a busy Emergency Department serving a vibrant Southeastern U.S. region. This full-time night shift role offers the opportunity to provide essential patient care and support in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to the unit and equipment.
  • Respond promptly to patient needs, providing direct assistance or notifying appropriate staff.
  • Support the nursing care plan by performing delegated patient care tasks.
  • Maintain patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
  • Manage and restock supplies to ensure a clean and well-equipped patient environment.
  • Participate in cost containment efforts and accurate patient service charging.
  • Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
  • Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency.
  • Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction and efficient patient throughput.
Education and Certifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
  • Current registration with the appropriate state nursing assistant registry.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Experience and Skills:
  • No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to read and understand English.
  • Flexibility with work tasks and schedules.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of age-specific patient care considerations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including nights.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and patient turning.
  • Visual and auditory acuity to observe patient conditions.
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids with adherence to safety protocols.
