Location: Manassas, VA

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 Months RTH)

Pay Rate: $25 - $29/hr

Schedule: Monday Friday | 7:00 AM 4:00 PM

Travel: Occasional travel for onsite installations

Job Overview

Our client is a custom fabrication company specializing in the design and build of trade show exhibits, museums, visitor centers, corporate environments, and portable displays. All projects are 100% custom-designed and fabricated to meet unique client requirements.

They are seeking experienced Cabinet Makers / Furniture Makers / Millworkers to join their Fabrication Team. This role involves building custom cabinets and furniture from scratch in a professional shop environment. This is not a furniture assembly or residential carpentry position.

Key Responsibilities

• Build custom cabinets and furniture from scratch based on detailed shop drawings
• Read, interpret, and execute fabrication and project drawings
• Independently plan and layout work according to specifications
• Safely operate shop equipment, including:
  • Table Saw
  • Radial Arm Saw
  • Jointer
• Work with hardwoods, laminates, and plywood
• Deliver high-quality, detail-oriented finished pieces
• Collaborate with team members to solve fabrication challenges
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Assist with onsite installations and artifact mounting when required
• Travel periodically to client sites for installation support

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a professional fabrication or woodworking shop
• Proven experience in custom cabinet making or furniture making (from scratch)
• Strong ability to read and work from detailed drawings
• Excellent planning and layout skills
• Hands-on experience with shop tools and machinery
• High attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Positive, solutions-oriented attitude

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building artifact mounts
• Experience with artifact installation
• Background in fine carpentry or high-end custom fabrication
