Performs decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilization and inventory management of surgical instruments and sterile supplies under supervision in a hospital sterile processing department. Rotates through all specialty stations including decontamination and sterilizers, supports surgical/perioperative services, and follows hospital sterile processing protocols and safety standards. Entry-level role that typically requires a high school diploma/GED and healthcare or public-facing experience; night shift, on-site position with benefits and wage range provided.
Description
Under the direction and supervision of Sterile Processing Supervisor and/or the Department Manager, the Associate Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the following: assemble clean instruments into specialized sets, package or wrap instruments for sterilization, maintains an inventory of sterile supplies on core carts. Rotates in all specialty stations, including Decontam and Sterilizers.
