The selected candidate will develop and implement initiatives for the system-wide reconstruction and maintenance of 816 miles of track and 2,340 switches. This includes overseeing the multi-year, multi-million dollar Track Capital Reconstruction Programs. The incumbent will develop and monitor complex automated inspection systems for rail and track geometry, track clearances, ultrasonic rail flaws, and thermal imaging systems system-wide. Responsible for developing and ensuring adherence to track standards, specifications, engineering standards, and NYCT policies. Must be prepared to respond to emergencies and critical occurrences on a 24/7 basis. Education and Experience A Baccalaureate Degree in Civil Engineering or a satisfactory equivalent from an accredited college; and twelve (12) years of experience, including eight (8) years in a managerial or supervisory capacity, or a satisfactory equivalent. Professional Engineer (PE) License is required. Desired Skills Superior knowledge of track engineering design, standards, and specifications. Experience with computerized automated track inspection equipment is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
