Overview The Life Enrichment Coordinator performs duties involving the planning and implementation of an activity program which meets physical, mental and psychosocial needs and interests of residents. Responsibilities Comply with the Community’s personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures. Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Executive Director, RCC or Unit Manager. Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with respect and dignity. Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information. Report to work on time and as scheduled. Plan and implement activities to meet residents’ specific needs, including large groups, small groups and individual participation. Maintain documentation as required by State and Federal regulations. Input on Minimum Data Set, participation in plan of care and other assessments and updates. Deliver residents’ mail, newsletters and other Community information. Coordinate recruitment, retention and involvement of volunteers with residents. Coordinate community involvement in the Community. Plan staff functions and activities to increase staff morale. Monitor staff and state/federal regulatory compliance, including blood borne pathogens, infection control, hazardous materials handling and fire safety. Help coordinate restorative programs that enhance residents’ lives and support their highest practical level of physical and psychosocial well-being. Essential Job Duties / Physical Requirements Regular worksite attendance. Must have basic computer skills. If required to operate a motor vehicle for business purposes, must successfully complete the Company’s Motor Vehicles policy requirements. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must be able to work beyond normal hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations. Must be able to perform the essential position functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Employee may use a transfer/gait belt and may require assistance when lifting or carrying objects over 25 pounds. Physical requirements vary by task and may include lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds and frequent repetitive hand use. Reach, push/pull, grasp, handling, fingering, twisting, bending, crouching, crawling, squatting, kneeling, climbing and balancing as required. Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile individuals. Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics as needed to perform duties.
